Building a Home for a Hero

Some days on the job are special — the kind that remind us why we build. This October in Owatonna, ProBuilt Construction had the honor of joining Building Homes for Heroes, Chase, Lowe’s, and a team of dedicated volunteers to welcome U.S. Army Private Michael Bryant and his family to their newly renovated, mortgage-free home.

It was an unforgettable day filled with cheers, gratitude, and a strong sense of community.

About Building Homes for Heroes

Building Homes for Heroes is a national nonprofit that provides newly built or renovated, mortgage-free homes to veterans and first responders who have been injured in the line of duty. Founded after the September 11th attacks, the organization has since gifted more than 1,000 homes across the country, providing a foundation for healing and new beginnings.

When Private Bryant, a U.S. Army Veteran who served two tours in Iraq, was selected as a recipient, ProBuilt Construction was honored to step in and help transform the Owatonna property into a safe, welcoming space for him and his family.

Welcome Home

On Thursday, October 16th, the community gathered to celebrate the Bryant family’s move-in day. Despite steady rain, spirits were high as volunteers, sponsors, and neighbors came together to honor a hero. Private Bryant, who continues to live with the lasting physical and mental effects of his service, expressed deep gratitude: “This home means a foundation for my family now — they’re well taken care of. This is a blessing come true for us.”

The project, made possible through partnerships with Chase, Lowe’s, and the Building Homes for Heroes team, ensured that every detail was ready for the family’s arrival, including a warm welcome waiting at the door.

Proud to Build for Those Who’ve Served

For ProBuilt, this project was more than just a renovation; it was a chance to give back to someone who has given so much. As a local company rooted in southern Minnesota, ProBuilt believes that building strong homes also means building strong communities. We’re proud to have played a role in creating a place where Private Bryant and his family can rest, rebuild, and make new memories for years to come. His service and sacrifice remind us of the true meaning of resilience, gratitude, and community.

 Thank You, Private Bryant!
